Exkursion ins Kaltenhofer Moor

Kommt mit uns in die Heimat von Heide, Wollgras und Sonnentau!

Gemeinsam wollen wir das Kaltenhofer Moor erkunden und entdecken, was hier alles wächst und blüht. Das Kaltenhofer Moor ist der Rest eines ehemaligen atlantischen Hochmoores, von dem weite Teile für den Torfabbau und die Landwirtschaft genutzt wurden.

Heute steht die Fläche unter Naturschutz, sodass wir hier den Lebensraum Moor hautnah erleben können.

Wir werden das Gebiet zu Fuß durchqueren, daher empfehlen wir feste Schuhe und Schutz gegen Zecken, Mücken und Sonne.

Gerne könnt ihr auch Ferngläser, Lupen, Bestimmungsbücher und ähnliches mitbringen.

Treffpunkt ist am 23.07.2023 um 14 Uhr auf dem Parkplatz am Kaltenhofer Moor (Stodthagener Weg 18, 24244 Felm)

Das Kaltenhofer Moor ist über den ÖPNV mit der Bushaltestelle Kaltenhof Schönwinkel erreichbar. Alternativ bietet sich auch eine Fahrradtour an. Falls ihr weder mit Bus noch Fahrrad ans Ziel kommt, meldet euch bei uns, damit wir Fahrgemeinschaften organisieren können.

Trip to the „Kaltenhofer Moor”

Come along into the habitat of heather, cotton gras and sundew!

Together we want to explore the “Kaltenhofer Moor” and discover its vegetation. The “Kaltenhofer Moor” is the remaining part of a former atlantic peat bog. Wide parts of the ancient bog area were used for peat extraction and agriculture.

Today, the area is part of a nature reserve. Therefore we can perfectly experience the bog as a biotope.

We will walk through the area, therefore we would recommend sturdy shoes and protection against ticks, mosquitos and the sun.

The area is accessible via public transport (bus stop: „Kaltenhof Schönwinkel“). It is also possible to get there by bike from Kiel or Gettorf. Please contact us if you cannot get there by bike, car or public transport.
